RANGELY — All participants in the Dress Your Pet contest received a medal and a free 8×10 color group picture, given by photographer Wayne Nickson. To view further pictures of the contest, go to www.agapephoto.ifp3.com.
There were six winners and a special award given out. Winners received a small cash award, prizes and ribbons.
Roxie Long, Rangely’s animal control officer, was a special guest along with Buriser, her dressed-up Corgi, to help supervise all the four-legged guests.
A successful bake sale was held and the Four-Legged Friends 4-H group had a table displaying pet information. Roaming the area, begging for attention, were the adoptive shelter animals wearing their Adopt Me banners. We had great judges and appreciated their time and efforts, said Kay Nickson. Everyone had a good time and is looking forward to the 2009 Pet Contest at next year’s Septemberfest.
