Above, Meeker senior Sammy Palmer wasted no time taking his opponent down to his back with a head lock, before locking up a cross-face cradle to pin the wrestler from Grand Valley early in the first period. Palmer and the Cowboys wrestled Grand Valley and 5A Ralston Valley on Jan 7, on a brand new mat, below, dedicated to the memory of former Meeker wrestling coach Bill Turner, who coached Meeker’s first state championship team.
