In October, Meeker’s Macy Collins, 14, traveled to the Ak-Sar-Ben livestock show in Omaha, Neb., where she showed three lambs and gave a speech on “Grass Fed vs. Grain Fed Beef.”
She received blue ribbons on two of her lambs and won her age division in speech. She also went to the Nile Livestock Show in Billings, Mont., where she showed two heifers, one lamb and two goats and participated in the livestock judging contest. Her Shorthorn heifer won her division and was third overall. Her Sim-Solution heifer was third in her class. Her lamb was second and she earned fifth in sheep showmanship. Her goats were second and fourth, and she was champion junior goat showman. In judging, she was third in the sheep division, first in swine, first in beef, first in reasons and first place high individual.
