Winners of contests in last weekend’s Winter Games have been announced.
There were more than 75 people at Lake Avery for ice fishing (No one caught a fish.)
About 115 hot lunches were sponsored by Mose McPhail of White River Realty.
Cardboard Derby: Five participants
- 6 and under: Cory Mohr and Matthew Willey.
- 7-12 years old: Jake Smith, Christopher and Amanda Scherbarth.
- Best Design: First, Jake Smith; second, Cory Mohr; third, Matthew Willey.
- Family Scavenger Hunt: 16 groups, about 20-25 people
- Winner: Ron, Beth and Matthew Willey (receive a free six-month family membership to MRC).
Artisan Show: 41 participants
- People’s choice kids: Virgil Cook, 9 (Diamond Head wood turning).
- People’s choice adult: Norma Oldland, Indian girl painting
Pie Bake-off: 15 participants
- Fruit: Kalene Weinholdt (caramel apple).
- Cream: Elinor Williams (sour cream raisin).
- Other: Ashley Purkey (strawberry cheesecake).
- Overall winner: Kalene Weinholdt with the caramel apple pie.
People’s Choice Pie Winner: Sparky Pappas with a cherry cream cheese pie.
Youth Aquatic Games: 30 participants
- Duck race (all ages): Willow Carden.
- 6-and-under duck race: Matthew Willey.
- 7-and-up duck race: Riley Pertile and Jacob Beesley.
- 7-12-year-old sweat suit race: Gunner Bullard, Robbie Jensen and Brennan Jensen.
- 13-16 year old swim meet: Austin Purcell.
Adult Aqua Volleyball
- One team entered: Slingblades (Lisa Belmonte, Jay Johnson, Briana Potts, Jeanne Newman, Ed Hollowed, Bob Lange, Kent Walter, Stacy Hudelson and Bill Smith).
