MEEKER | Preliminary work begins this week on the Fairfield Center “old library” space remodel project.
J Dyer Construction is the general contractor for the project. J Dyer Construction also did the remodel work on the courthouse in 2008 when a new elevator was installed and the facility was updated to make it ADA compliant.
The remodel work on the Fairfield Center “old library” space is anticipated to extent through the summer months and will be completed toward the end of August or before. Operations in the Fairfield Senior Center and the Main Event Hall will not be impacted during this remodel construction.
The northwest entrance at the center will be restricted for contractor use only during construction.
The northeast entrance should be used to enter the center for main hall events. Both the southwest and southeast entrances should be used to gain access to the senior center. The southwest entrance is approved and designated as the official handicapped entrance and is equipped with an automatic door opener for those needing assistance to gain access to the facility. Minor disruption will occur to these four building entrances when each is updated with enclosed vestibules.
Once remodeling is complete, the space will become the new offices and administrative space for Rio Blanco County. Specifically, the following offices will be housed in this new space: Commissioners, county attorney, human resources, planning and development, building and zoning, environmental health, GIS and veterans affairs.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this remodel construction project. If questions or concerns about the project, call 878-9436.
