On June 18, the ERBM Recreation & Park District participated in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL) to help build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim. With the Meeker community support, WLSL has once again helped set a new (unofficial) world record for the largest swimming lesson conducted in a 24-hour period around the globe. In 2015, the District grew its WLSL attendance by more than 20 percent with more than 50 swimmers and instructors taking part. Because of this feat, the district has become an official member of the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson Club, H2O. More than 38,000 swimmers participated at more than 450 locations throughout the event. Check early next summer in the ERBM Recreation & Park District Line-Up for 2016’s WLSL date.
