MEEKER I The White River Electric Association Board of Directors approved a December 2014 bill credit for all WREA electric accounts.
The 2014 bill credit will appear on consumer’s December 2014 bill, which arrives in the mail the first week of January. The credit is based upon electric usage from January through November 2014, and is proportionate to electric consumption. The Bill Credit is a result of excess revenue in 2014.
According to WREA General Manager Alan Michalewicz, “A system-wide bill credit is highly unusual in the electric industry, but it made sense this year due to unique financial circumstances.”
The successful resolution of the Tri State rate case and strong sales contributed to White River Electric’s unique financial year. The average residential account will receive a $10 credit on their December bill.
“It’s not a lot, but every little bit counts,” Michalewicz said. “We hope our member consumers enjoy a little extra change in their pockets this holiday season.”
Commercial and industrial accounts will receive larger credits that are also in proportion to their electric consumption from January through November 2014.
