Local energy company White River Electric Association (WREA) recently made a $10,000 donation to the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District, which will go towards the purchase of a quick response vehicle for the Quick Response Team in the Piceance Creek area. Dr. Krueger said he had been working with former EMS coordinator Kris Borchard for the past several years on EMS care in the Piceance Basin. “It’s important for PMC to support the efforts of the fire and rescue district and the energy companies in the area,” Dr. Krueger said. Krueger gave credit to ExxonMobil and Shell for their financial and educational support for EMT training and allowing employees to respond to emergencies in the Piceance Basin as volunteers.White River Electric Association general manager Dick Welle, presents a check to Rio Blanco Fire and Rescue District president Todd Morris.
