MEEKER I High school wrestling coach J.C. Watt has invited three-time all-American Joe LeBlanc to hold a wrestling camp Friday, July 8 at the Meeker Elementary School.
LeBlanc, a three-time Colorado state wrestling champ currently wrestling for the University of Wyoming Cowboys, has placed fifth, fourth and sixth respectively the last three years at the NCAA Division I national tournament.
“It’s exciting to have one of Meeker’s kids come back and share his experience with us,” Watt said of LeBlanc’s return to his hometown.
All wrestlers from kindergarten through 12th-grade are welcome. Willy Theos will be the clinician at a morning session for seventh- through 12th-graders starting at 8 a.m. LeBlanc will be the clinician for a special session for kindergarten through sixth-graders, starting at 10 a.m., and the clinician for the afternoon session dedicated to seventh-graders and older wrestlers, starting at 1 p.m.
The cost of the camp for K-6 is $10 and $20 for seventh-graders and older, both prices include lunch.
