RBC I In cooperation with the local Forest Service, a 2.4 mile cross country ski trail has been groomed by volunteers with a twin track set on the left and a skate lane on the right to East Marvine Campground. There is also an additional .25 mile twin track set from the campground to the Wilderness boundary. The trail can easily be accessed by driving upriver on County Road 8, turning on County Road 12 and parking at the end of the plowed road.
Volunteers John and Mary Taylor, Alvin and Linda Jones, Joe Fennessy, Bobby Castaldo, Denver and Janet Hayes along with Ron Hilkey, White River Snowmobile Club groomer operator, have set up a warming tent for the comfort of cross country skiers at the East Marvine Campground. Local cross country skiers and outdoor recreationalists in general are encouraged to attend the regular meetings of the White River Snowmobile Club held at 5:30 p.m. the third Monday of the month, October through March, to discuss developing the White River Nordic Club and work together to provide a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities for the community.
