MEEKER | The Meeker Community Wrestling Club took 40 wrestlers to compete in Hayden last Saturday and 32 placed in the top four, including eight champions. Meeker’s young wrestlers will wrestle in Craig this Saturday, then host the Casey Turner Memorial April 22.
“We are wrestling tough and getting better week-by-week,” Meeker youth coach Carl Padilla said. “We are so proud of the hard work these kids are putting in.”
Dexter Chinn, Hoyt Garcia, Josh Simmons, Snowdon Williams, Tucker Chinn, Dillon Hobbs, Diego Robles and Connor Blunt all won gold medals in their brackets. Finley Deming, Dominic Wyatt, Elijah LeBlanc and Dagon Dade all finished as runners-up in their weight divisions, while Miles Etchart, Clayton Carroll, Savanah Petrocco, Bryant Turner, Brig Williams, Gavin Allen, Holten Harvey, Adrianna Price, Levi Caulfield, Rolando Robles, Judd Harvey and Damon Dade all finished as consolation champions.
Thomas Theos, Cole Williams, Dathan Dade, Bow Muxlow, Dublin Price, Austin Lopez, Jasmine Long and Damon Scott all placed fourth.
Coach Paddilla said Logan Selby, Ryan Hanberg, Levi Petrocco, Cole Nay, Holt Pelloni, Owen Etchart, Tanner Goodwin, and Garrett Merz, “all wrestled well but did not place.”
