Youth wrestlers host tourney

RANGELY I The Rangely Panther Youth Wrestling team hosted their own tournament April 7 and had an outstanding weekend.
Forty-three Rangely wrestlers participated and out of the 43, 20 placed in the top four. This week’s champions were Landon Carlson, Breckin McElhaney, Tyce Lucero, Kobey Chism, Jose Flores, Zane Varner, Byron Mackay and Gavan Kendall. Second place winners were Karver Lopez, Dontea Pearce, Calvin Bishop and C.J. Lucero. Third place winners were Jedidiah Vandewark, Corbin Lucero, Hunter Hanvey and Justin Rusher. Fourth place winners were Landon Williams, Joshua Dunn and Anthony Dorris. Wrestling, but not placing were Tanner Strain, Kevin Wren, Jaxon Torsell, Xavier Preciado, Curtis Reeves, Sage Rhea, Wyatt Zufelt, Colten Stevens, David Middleton, Kasen Lebleu, Bryce Willis, Clay Allred, Andrew Slack, Braden Lucas, Luis Quintana, Brode McElhaney, Joshua Dunn, Emiliano Rocha, Max Stout, David Howlett, Johnny Dominguez, Marcos Quintana, Tim Stieb and Cameron Filfred.
Overall it was an outstanding performance on behalf of the Rangely Youth Wrestlers. The team would like to thank all of the local sponsors that helped make the 2012 tournament a success Giovanni’s, Duco INC, Rangely True Value, Rangely Napa Auto Parts, Professional Touch, White River Market, Loaf-N-Jug, Kum-N-Go, Big D’s and Badger Daylight Trucking, and all of the coaches that attended the tournament to help.
