The Rangely Panthers youth wrestling team was in Vernal, Utah, last weekend. Eighteen Rangely wrestlers competed in the tournament, with 17 placing in the top three. This week’s champions were Breckin McElhaney, Tyce Lucero, Karver Lopez, Brody McElhaney, Justin Rusher and Hunter Hanvey. Second place winners were Curtis Reeves, Johnny Dominguez, Tytus Coombs and Calvin Bishop. Third place winners were Kobey Chism, Andrew Slack, Jose Flores, Max Stout, Dontea Pearce, Emiliono Rocha and Lane Hallmark. Also competing but not placing was Marcos Quintana. The next tournament will be Saturday, March 31 in Craig. Overall, an outstanding performance on behalf of the Rangely youth wrestlers and a “big thank you” to all of the coaches that attended the tournament to help out.
