Caryl Meitler was officially installed as Meeker’s new postmaster and the first-ever woman to serve in that position. Meitler’s family joined her for the installation. Daughter-in-law Kama Clarke, son Scott Clarke and grandson Sebastian Clarke, all of Montrose. “You all take good care of her,” Kama Clarke said.

Barone wins county rematch
RBC I In a rematch of county teams, Meeker’s Barone Middle School boys’ basketball teams prevailed. In the eighth-grade games last Thursday, Meeker’s A team won 28-23 with Jake Boesch scoring 10 points and Dylan Mobley eight. Rangely’s Conner Phelan led all scorers with 13 points.

Valuation in county tops $1 billion
