Byers serves mission for church
Hyrum Mark Byers, son of Mark and Beverly Byers of Rangely, left on May 26 to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Anaheim, Calif.

Utah man killed, one injured in wreck
RBC I One man was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle crash June 10 in rural Rio Blanco County, about 20 miles east of Rangely. The victim, Brian Dick, 22, from Vernal, Utah, was a passenger in the Chevrolet pickup.
Letter: Elimination of DOE would save money
In her recent column, Lt. Gov. O’Brien attempted to justify the U.S. Department of Education. I wasn’t convinced. As a state official, Ms. O’Brien should be objecting to the powers taken by the feds from state prerogatives. Sticking to the Constitution is an even more compelling reason.

Kelly Moyer, a 2006 Meeker High School graduate and a recent graduate of Colorado State University, will travel to Germany for six months with the International 4-H Youth Exchange.
