RBC I Colorado’s Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), which provides financial assistance with home heating bills, has announced additional federal funding of $2 million, allowing the state to increase LEAP’s average benefit by nearly 15 percent.

Troop competes in derby
RANGELY I Rangely Boy Scout Troop 189 — The Stripling Warriors — traveled to Sylvan Lake State Park 15 miles south of Eagle, Colo. on Feb. 11 to participate in the Three Rivers District Klondike Derby.
Ladies beat Plateau Valley 48-30
RANGELY I The Rangely girls’ basketball team pounded the lady Cowboys from Plateau Valley 48-30 at home and will finish the regular season on the road, in Meeker Friday and Paonia Saturday. “It wasn’t pretty but it was a win,” head coach Jimmie Mergelman said.

Ladies lose at home, win away
MEEKER I Meeker’s lady Cowboys rallied against the Paonia Eagles for a loss Friday, Feb. 10, and traveled to Oak Creek Saturday to beat the Soroco Rams. Both games were slow starts for Meeker.
