The cheerleading squad at Meeker High School has started its second year as an unfunded sport. The lack of funding has not affected enthusiasm or the number of girls out cheering for the Cowboys.
Backs finish with best net score
MEEKER I After the first day of play, George and Peggy Back were tied with Ellen Boudreaux and son Ron Kelly Crawford with the best gross score in the championship flight of the annual couples tournament. Although both teams added strokes on the second day, they both finished well.

Becky Smith Johnson passed away on Aug. 13, 2012, at the Uintah Care Center in Vernal, Utah. At the time of her passing, Becky bravely battled Huntington’s Disease and cancer. Becky was born in Vernal, Utah, on Nov. 5, 1954, to George Smith Sr. and Mary Shevechick.
