Whew! The Rio Blanco County Fair is over, and there are a lot of folks taking it a little easier today (Sunday), after a long stretch of tough days.

MEEKER I Navy Seaman Trevor D. Matrisciano, son of Joel D. Matrisciano of Meeker, Colo. and Leanne M. Tobiasson of North Platte, Neb., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Lawyer, water expert, Navy man: Frank Cooley dies at age 91
MEEKER I Frank Gideon Cooley III, 91, was born June 11, 1923, to Frank Gideon Cooley Jr. and Asta Knutsen Cooley. He died at his home in Meeker on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014.

Unemployment rate continues to drop in Rio Blanco County
RBC I For the fourth straight month, the June unemployment rate is down slightly in Rio Blanco County, using seasonally non-adjusted figures. Unemployment numbers are down more than 1.8 percent from June 2013.
