Rangely mayor pro tem resigns seat
RANGELY I Rangely Town Council member and Mayor Pro Tem Brad Casto submitted a letter of resignation from his position on the council last week. Casto had served on the council for seven years.

MEEKER I On March 18, the the Meeker School Board announced two finalists had been selected for April 3 interviews for the next superintendent of Meeker schools.
Marshall Cook new Meeker fire chief; wife from Maybell, Craig
MEEKER I For the first time in 15 years, the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District has a new fire chief, and Marshall Cook will also take over the title of EMT (emergency medical technician) chief, succeeding longtime chief Steve Allen.

Two Meeker DI teams head to state next
MEEKER I Meeker Elementary School had five teams participate in Destination Imagination on Saturday at the Western Slope Regional Tournament, and two of those teams will continue on to the DI State Finals in April.

BOCES to offer new contract to director
RBC I The Rio Blanco Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), which is composed of the combined Meeker and Rangely school board members, met March 12 in Meeker to review the preliminary budget for next year and to assess Executive Director Teresa Schott.
