Cowboys defeat Titans 36-6 in first home game
MEEKER I It was the first home game of the season, which turned into the first win of the season for the Meeker High School football team, as they defeated the 2A Coal Ridge Titans 36-6 in Starbuck Stadium on Sept. 11.
RHS volleyball opens promising season with strong play in Hotchkiss, Paonia
RANGELY I The Rangely High School volleyball team beat Hotchkiss handily Friday night with a balanced offensive effort led by Katelyn Brown with seven kills, Katye Allred had six, Sarah Connor had five, Lindzey Thacker added four and Kassidy Brannan finished with two kills.

Rangely School District to seek mill levy override in November
RANGELY I In the coming November election Rangely voters will be deciding the future level of school funding for the Rangely School District. In August the school board, at the request of Superintendent Matt Scoggins, voted 4-1 to push a mill levy override ballot initiative.
