Feb. 24-March 1, 2020 Meeker Dispatch Center administered 349 phone calls last week including 27 911 calls, 27 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 89 outgoing calls. A total of 150 calls for service were created, 50 for the Sheriff’s Office, 46 for MPD.
Guilty verdict returned in five-day RBC jury trial
RBC I Following a five-day trial lasting well into the evening last Friday, a 12-person jury comprised of Meeker and Rangely residents returned a guilty verdict for 30-year-old Kenneth Henson of Rangely on multiple felony sexual assault charges stemming back to a 2018 arrest.

Cowboys take 2nd in district, head to Vail for regionals
MEEKER I The Cowboys had two nail biters this weekend in district play. Friday, after the decisive win over Soroco on Tuesday, Meeker took on the Cowboys from Plateau Valley. A one-point game, Meeker took victory 57-56 and looked forward to a chance to play for first place.
District champions! Lady Cowboys to host regionals
MEEKER I The lady Cowboys are district champions and will host regionals in Meeker, playing for a chance for the second year in a row to the big show. Sarah Kracht with 16 points and Julia Dinwiddie with 12 led the Cowboys in a 53-36 win over the Hayden Tigers.
