BACKGROUND: Class II injection wells are permitted and regulated in such a manner as to prevent the contamination of underground sources of drinking water and to ensure fluid emplacement and confinement within the permitted injection zones. Class II injection wells are permitted to inject waste generated from oil and gas exploration and production operations. BOPCO L.P. proposes to dispose of produced water generated from their nearby oil and gas operations into the Yellow Creek Federal 4-16-1 injection well. BOPCO L.P. proposes to inject these fluids into the Sego Formation at depths ranging from 10,616 feet to 10,992 feet. The total measured depth of the Yellow Creek Federal 4-16-1 Injection well is 11,400 feet and is plugged back to 11,307 feet.
