RBC I The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center has launched its new Facebook page.
Dispatchers will be posting in real time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week about current events, restrictions, community warnings, road closures and a general synopsis of major incidents occurring in Rio Blanco County.
The public is encourage to “Like” the Facebook page if interested in notifications of postings and can converse with the communications center if they have questions. This does not replace calling 911 or the sheriff’s office directly for emergencies or any services provided by the sheriff’s office.
To report any non-emergency situations occurring within Rio Blanco County, please call the sheriff’s office, the Meeker or Rangely police departments as appropriate according to the location of the incident you are reporting.
The public can visit the Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/ RBSO911Communcations or by searching for “Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office 911” on the Facebook search engine.
The Facebook page also contain website links such as COTrip, the state road conditions website, the Colorado State Patrol accident/reporting website, other county law enforcement, U.S. Forest Service maps and more. CodeRed the reverse 911 notification system used by Rio Blanco County also has a link.
Community residents can sign up their cell phones and any Internet-based phone by clicking on the CodeRed logo or by calling the RBCSO directly at 878-9600 if you do not have internet access.
There is also a mobile app that is a free download for iPhone and Android subscribers. It will allow town/county residents the ability to view all active alerts for the entire country. This ability was previously limited to a 500-mile radius of the subscriber’s current location and has since been expanded to a 5,000-mile radius.
