MEEKER I Friday will be Youth Fishing Day in Meeker followed by Movie Under the Stars, all free and all held at Meeker’s Circle Park, across the bridge from Meeker Town Park.
The fun will begin at 4 p.m., when the entire family is invited to fish for free although fishermen and women 16 years of age and older are required to have fishing licenses. The fishing event runs until 8:45 p.m., when the movie “Pan” will be shown. Pan is rated PG.
The ERBM Recreation and Park District has partnered with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Meeker Lions Club to bring you this fun-filled family event.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife will provide fishing rods, reels, hooks, bobbers and bait for youth participants in need of supplies.
The CPW will also stock Circle Park Pond with fish for the event and provide educational demonstrations about fish throughout the afternoon.
The Meeker Lions Club will be cooking up a free dinner for all to enjoy, so bring the entire family to event and stay for the s’mores before the movie.
Folks are encouraged to bring chairs or a blanket to sit on while enjoying the move “Pan.”
