Dear Editor:
Local Rangely artist and avid animal lover Tammy Dahle has decided to combine her need to create and her love of dogs to do something to help raise money for the new animal shelter that is in the process of becoming a reality in Rangely.
Although the staff goes above and beyond to make sure the animals there are well taken care of, the facility itself has seen better days.
I’ve been very impressed by the staff at the shelter. The way they care for the animals; going out of their way to save dogs from other shelters that euthanize to give them a new lease on life.
My newest friend Bonnie, a pit mix, came from a shelter in Texas, where she was on death row. The ladies from the shelter saved her. She was in the shelter system for almost a year before she came to us. She is the sweetest, most tolerant, loving girl and she fits into our family perfectly.
All of my dogs are rescue dogs; they’re some of the best dogs ever! There’s nothing better then watching them have a great time out in the open; running until their hearts are content, knowing they have a new lease on life. I would urge everyone to consider a shelter dog before spending big money on a pure breed.
The art work is in a display at Rangely Town Hall and, for a donation of $20, you can have your choice. There will be new art coming in as I get it finished, so be sure and check it out.
Remember to be generous and help provide a great new shelter for our four-legged friends.
