MEEKER I The Meeker Arts and Cultural Council [MACC] and the ERBM Recreation and Parks District in cooperation with the Meeker High School, will offer free enrichment seminars by Colorado Mesa University Theatre Arts Department Faculty members. The first two interactive workshop seminars will be offered by professor Jeremy Franklin, renowned CMU Theatre Arts musical theatre director on the topic of production of musicals. It is currently planned to begin these seminars on either Saturday or Sunday April 6 or 7, and again either on April 13 or 14, from noon to 3 p.m., subject to enrollment and other logistics. Future seminars may include [but not be limited to] acting methods, history of theatre, directing, technical theatre [lighting, sound, stagecraft, scene design, makeup, costuming, et al].
Youth and adults of the community are invited to participate and to indicate what the best dates for participation would be [e.g., Saturday or Sunday] so that they can be scheduled. Future offerings may be expanded to fine arts and cultural programs such sculpting, painting, ceramics, photography and cinematography, cultural and historical seminars, and other fields of interest to Meeker youth and adults.
While there is no cost to participants, it is essential for participants to enroll and commit to attending the seminars in order to justify the costs for offering them. Students and Community members are asked to contact MACC to enroll as soon as possible by email: [email protected], or phone 970 878-4832.
