Marvine trail offers winter fun

MEEKER I This winter, the White River Snowmobile Club, the White River Nordic Council, the Eastern Rio Blanco Recreation District and Sable Mountain Outfitters have joined forces to provide an incredible family experience.
Cross country skiing and snowshoeing at Marvine is an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful White River Valley on groomed trails. The Marvine Snow Trail is 2.2 miles with a warming hut provided by Sable Mountain Outfitters along the way. The hut includes table and chairs, a propane stove, a first aid kit and pans to heat snow/water. The track is groomed for cross country skiing on the left side and skate skiing and snowshoeing on the right side.
This fun family adventure is offered at no cost to you. The Meeker Recreation Center is loaning snowshoes for those who don’t have them.
Membership or donations to the White River Snowmobile Club are encouraged for grooming support. For more information on the snowmobile club, please call Troy Hilkey at 878-3320.
