Obituary: Florence “Gail” Schofield Dec. 25, 1942 ~ Dec. 30, 2010

Gail Schofield, 68, long-time resident of Rangely, died Dec. 30, 2010 in Denver, Colo., following a lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
Gail was born on Christmas Day in 1942, in Victoria, B.C., Canada, to John and Peggy Tippett. Gail was graduated from the University of Victoria in 1965 and continued her education at the University of Denver receiving a master of science in library science, combining her avid love of books and organization.
In Denver, she met and married Harold Lee Schofield on June 3, 1967, and they had three children together: Beth, Cheryl and Sam. She moved to Rangely in 1977, and worked as a bookkeeper/office administrator with Harold at the accounting practice of Schofield & Associates, P.C., with offices in Rangely and Meeker. She loved photography and scrapbooking. She delighted in encouraging others and enjoyed sharing her extensive library of books and videos with family and friends. She was an active member of Bible Baptist Church for many years and used her love of Christ and children teaching Sunday school and AWANAs.
Gail is survived by her husband Harold of Denver; daughters Elizabeth Schofield of Denver and Cheryl (Christian) Morris of Dayton, Ohio; son Samuel Schofield of Denver; three grandchildren; and brother, Jack (Irena) Tippett of Vancouver, B.C. Her parents preceded her in death.
Memorial services were conducted for Gail on Saturday, June 4, at Bible Baptist Church in Rangely.
