Garry Anderson Karren, 44, of Vernal, Utah, went home to his heavenly Father June 15, 2011. He was born Dec. 14, 1966, to Clayton and Janice Karren in Las Vegas, Nev.
He attended Rangely High School and was graduated in 1985. He went to college for four years in Boulder, Colo., and then returned to Rangely where he worked for Magnalino’s. He then worked for Halliburton for six years as a mud engineer. Recently he had been happily working at Rain 4 Rent.
Garry married the love of his life, Wendie Rhea Butcher, Oct. 23, 2002. They had met through one of Garry’s best friends, Steve Kendrick. Garry was an excellent cook, especially his prime rib, homemade rolls, chili, cookies and barbecue. Garry’s family was the center of his life. He loved spending his free time with his two children, Jaden, 6, and Shaylae, 3. He enjoyed fishing, when he had the time, and loved tinkering in the yard and building models. You could always find him watching a Godzilla movie with his son Jaden.
He was a member of the LDS Church, and was in the process of preparing to go to the temple and be sealed to his family. Garry enjoyed life to the fullest and all who knew him will greatly miss him.
He is survived by his wife Wendie and children Jayden and Shaylae, all of Vernal; parents Janice and Clayton, sister Christina (Chuck) Winkler, nephew Kyle Smithey, niece Mariah Campbell and numerous family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son Caleb Karren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Vernal Fifth Ward LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
