Memorial services will be held at a later date. Services will be provided by Wind Dancer Funeral home of Fort Washakie.
Gladys Eleanor Marburger was born in Dustin, Neb., on Dec. 18, 1904, the daughter of George L. and Addie B. Marburger.
At the age of 11, she moved to Farmland, four miles west of Shawnee in Converse County, Wyo., to make their new home. She married Floyd A. Cady on July 12, 1922, and had three sons, Keith, Dean and Earl.
She and her husband moved to Colorado in 1945.
She kept books for the propane business they owned in Dinosaur, Colo., and was appointed justice of the peace.
After Mr. Cady’s death in 1976, she moved to Lander.
She was a resident of the Pioneer Home in Thermopolis, Wyo., was voted Wyoming Pioneer citizen of the year in 1986, and later was a resident of Canyon Hills Manor in Thermopolis and Westward Heights in Lander.
Mrs. Cady is survived by five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren; sisters Althea Logan of Seaside, Ore., and Gayle Armstrong of Lander.

  • Mormon crickets have hatched near Rangely. They were all sighted on BLM land north of Hwy. 64 near the junction of CR 96 and CR 1, down a dirt road near the Moffat County line. The picture shown was taken yesterday by Mary Meinen from Rangely. She says the crickets are about the size of a ladybug (less than 1/2”). Some of them are actually yellow in color but most of them are darker. They are milling around and getting ready to start moving soon. Note: Photo is not to scale.
Rio Blanco County and the White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts are still asking for your help to identify additional hatch-outs of crickets so that control efforts can be put in place. The success of the program will highly depend upon local landowners and the public helping to locate crickets as soon as they hatch.
