RBC I After encouragement from friends and family, Bob Rankin is entering the race to represent Northwest Colorado’s House District 57. The district encompasses three counties in Northwest Colorado: Moffat, Garfield and Rio Blanco.
Rankin and his wife Joyce reside near Carbondale, Colo., in Garfield County. The consolidation of the entirety of Garfield County into the district as a result of the recent reapportionment allows Rankin, who ran a close race for a seat in the Colorado Senate in 2010, to enter the HD57 race for 2012.
Bob has written and spoken extensively in support of limited government, less regulation and support to free market capitalism. He describes himself as a constitutional and fiscal conservative. He says he loves Colorado and wants to help protect its western heritage.
Rankin’s work experience as an entrepreneur and aerospace executive qualify him to understand the complex issues facing the western slope of Colorado. He is passionate about supporting education. He believes that we need to develop all sources of domestic energy production while being careful to protect our environment. He is the CEO of an outdoor recreation business and understands the need to provide access to public lands while protecting our forests and rivers. He understands the unique heritage and needs of our farmers and ranchers and is ready to stand up for them.
