The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 754 phone calls last week including 33 911 calls, 76 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 341 outgoing calls. A total of 198 calls for service were created, 95 for the Sheriff’s Office, 80 for MPD and two assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 24 traffic stops issued nine citations. MPD had 24 stops, issued seven citations.There were six stops on Highway 13 with two citations issued.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 20 agency assists, six 911 hang ups, five animal calls, seven civil papers served, two business checks, two citizen assists, three motorist assists, 11 suspicious incidents, five traffic complaints, thee warrant arrests and one each: domestic violence, BLM wildland fire, forest service patrol, traffic hazard and VIN inspection.
MPD calls included three agency assists, four 911 hangups, eight animal calls, 16 business checks, two citizen assists, five suspicious incidents, six vin inspections and one each: civil, criminal mischief, parking violation, property, sexual assault, traffic accident, traffic complaint, trespass.
There were 11 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue, including two medical transports, one ambulance requests, report of a gas leak in a residence and three wildland fires.
There were eight assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in nine, five by the Sheriff’s Office, three from RPD and one from Colorado State Patrol. Seven inmates were released. There are currently 12 inmates in the facility. There were two transports to or from other facilities.
Four vehicle crashes were reported in the county, one involving car/deer.
There were no DUI arrests.
