Meeker Chamber of Commerce director Katelin Cook thanked area energy operators, including representatives from EnCana, Shell and Williams, and the 15 groups of volunteers who helped clean up Rio Blanco County Road 5 (Piceance Creek) last Saturday. Energy operators donated $500 to each non-profit group organized by Cook and Rangely 4-H coordinator Roxie Leischer. The 40-plus-mile road was divided into three-mile stretches, with Meeker groups starting on the Highway 13 side and Rangely groups starting on the Highway 64 side. The groups met in the middle where the Meeker Lions Club had burgers and brats ready to serve at the Rock School.
