RHS volleyball splits matches

RANGELY I Rangely High School girls’ volleyball team won one and lost one over the weekend, beating Caprock Academy and losing to Soroco Saturday.

The Panthers are working hard this week, preparing for the district tournament, which will be held at Sorocoo High School on Friday and Saturday.
Rangely is in a pool with Vail Christian and Meeker. Rangely will play Vail Christian at 10:30 a.m. and Meeker at noon with the winner of the pool advancing to Saturday’s bracketed portion of the tournament.
Saturday play will determine seeding for the regional tournament the following Saturday.
Rangely is a young team with a great deal of talent. They have proved on several occasions they can play with the best teams in the league and they hope to put together three great games and advancing to regionals.
Coach Jimmie Mergelman is excited for the tournament, and her players have worked hard all season to prepare for post season.
The Panthers are certainly a team other teams in the league respect for the way they have played during the season.
