RBC — The number of incidents received by the Rio Blanco County Communications Center rose from 937 in September 2007 to 978 in September 2008, an increase of 4.37 percent.
The sheriff’s office responded to 248 calls for service, up from 235 last September. The number of traffic stops for the sheriff’s office decreased from 494 in September 2007 to 378 in September 2008.
The Meeker Police Department responded to 233 calls for service in Sept. 2008 up from 159 in Sept. 2007. Traffic stops also increased for the Meeker P.D. in Sept. 2008 with 74 stops, up from 18 in Sept. 2007.
September’s most notable activity for both agencies included: 452 traffic stops; 63 VIN inspections; 54 animal calls; 29 motorist assists; 25 suspicious incidents; 22 traffic complaints; 19 traffic arrests; 18 accidents with property damage; 18 incidents assisting the Colorado State Patrol; 18 warrant arrests; 17 civil situations; 16 citizen assists; 16 thefts; 15 disturbances; seven burglaries; seven fires; five criminal mischief cases; five juvenile problems; five narcotics cases; four DUIs; four trespass cases; three hit and run accidents; three injury accidents; three assaults; three domestic violence cases; three fraud cases; two search and rescues; one harassment case; one liquor/MIP violation; one parole violation arrest; one restraining order violation and one homicide.
The RBC Detention Center’s average daily inmate population for September 2008 was 19.9 inmates, with 18.6 males and 1.3 females. A total of 81 people were booked into the detention center with 58 people jailed and 23 people booked and released. The detention center also served 1,624 meals during September 2008.
