MEEKER | The White River Conservation District is hosting a Water Law in a Nutshell class on June 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fairfield Community Center at 200 Main St. in Meeker. All aspects of the law related to water rights and ditch rights as applied in Colorado will be discussed. Subject matter includes the appropriation, perfection, use, limitations, attributes, abandonment, enforcement of various types of water rights, special rules for ground water, public rights in appropriated water, federal and interstate compacts and more. Registration fees: $25 in advance (by 5 p.m. June 20) or $35 at the door. Registration includes lunch and class materials.
