The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 438 phone calls this last week, receiving 28 911 calls, answered 50 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 79 outgoing phone calls. A total of 155 calls for service were created, 82 for the Sheriff’s Office, 78 for MPD and seven calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were five automobile crashes, two involving injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 14 traffic stops issuing five citations and MPD had 17 stops issuing six citations. Highway 13 south had nine traffic stops and issued one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 14 agency assists, one 911 hangup, 10 animal calls, three disturbances, five motorist assists, five suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints and one each: burglary, citizen assist, criminal mischief, DUI, narcotics, protective order, restraining order violation, theft, traffic accident and VIN inspection.
MPD calls included four agency assists, one 911 hangup, three alarms, four animal calls, seven business checks, three citizen assists, five civil calls, three disturbances, three juvenile problems, two motorist assists, four restraining order violations, three suspicious incidents, four traffic complaints, two VIN inspections and one each: abandoned vehicle, code enforcement, domestic violence, DUI, funeral escort, harassment, property protection order violation, traffic accident, traffic hazard and warrant arrest.
There were seven calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue one alarm, two traffic accidents with injuries, two medical transports and two ambulance calls.
There were two assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in 11 and released 12, MPD with five, Rangely Police Department with one and the Sheriff’s Office had five arrests. The jail is currently housing 11 inmates. There was one inmate transport to or from another facility.
There were two DUI arrests.
