The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 434 phone calls this last week, receiving 17 911 calls, answered 59 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 76 outgoing phone calls. A total of 126 calls for service were created, 68 for the Sheriff’s Office, 57 for MPD, and 10 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were six automobile crashes, two involving injuries, five involving a deer and one ATV crash with injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 19 traffic stops issuing five citations and MPD had 17 stops issuing six citations. Highway 13 south had nine traffic stops and issued four citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 10 agency assists, one 911 hangup, five animal calls, seven civil papers served, four motorist assists, four traffic accidents, two traffic complaints, four traffic hazards, three FIN inspections and one each: attended death, civil, BLM fire, property (found or lost), suspicious incident and warrant arrest.
MPD calls included five agency assists, seven animal calls, six business checks, three citizen assists, three juvenile problem, three motorist assists, two thefts, six VIN inspections and one each: alarm, code enforcement, funeral escort, property, restraining order violations, theft, traffic complaint and warrant arrest
There were 10 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue: two automobile crashes with possible injuries, three ambulance requests, two medical transports to another hospital and three fire calls.
There were two assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in seven and released five, CSP with one, MPD with one, Rangely PD with two and the Sheriff’s Office had three arrests. The jail is currently housing 11 inmates. There were no inmate transports to or from another facility.
There were no DUI arrests.
