10 candidates apply for county administrator job

RBC I Ten candidates submitted their applications by the end of last week to become the next Rio Blanco County administrator, filling the vacancy created in April by the resignation of former administrator Kimberly Bullen.
According to Teresa Anderson, serving as the human resources director, 10 candidates had filed applications by last week’s deadline, and only one of those 10 persons is from Rio Blanco County.
Anderson said she could not release the names of the candidates as yet because commissioners Shawn Bolton, Jeff Eskelsen and Jon Hill had just received the list of candidates Monday, when they left the county for a series of meetings.
Anderson said the commissioners will most likely release the name of the candidates at the next scheduled board meeting, set for Monday, June 10.
Meanwhile, Anderson said the process will begin with confirming that the candidates meet the qualifications. Then an examination of the qualifications will likely bring a shortening of the candidate list.
“Lastly, the commissioners will likely bring the finalists — and I don’t know how many that may be — in for interviews before making their decision,” Anderson said. “The final decision is up to the commissioners, and I don’t know if there is any set date for them to make the selection by.”
The salary range for the new county administrator is $75,000 to $120,000, “depending on qualifications,” the county’s advertisement for candidates states.
