The annual 3-D Archery Shoot, a fundraiser sponsored by the Meeker Sportsman’s Club last Saturday, featured 65 adult shooters and 21 kids. Zack Allen, the archery chairman for the club, won the Bowhunter division and Todd Combs of Craig won the Men’s Freestyle division. Shawn and Cutter Polly, both of Craig, both finished second in the Bowhunter and Freestyle division, respectively, while Coombs was third in the Bowhunter division and Ray Tenbrook of Gypsum was third in Freestyle. Allen said shooters came from Grand Junction, Gypsum, Olathe, Rifle, Glenwood Springs, Delta and Vernal, Utah, participated and the next event will be even bigger, the R100, scheduled to be held in Meeker Aug. 11-12. “We loved seeing all the kids this year, that’s what it’s all about,” Allen said. “Kids always shoot free at Meeker Sportsman’s Club archery shoots. We’re building a good future.”
