n Al Hall of Leadville arrived on Coal Creek Saturday where he will join his brother J.E. Hall in the ranch and cattle business.
n William A. Keller’s new residence is nearing completion under the artistic hands of Jack Yonkers and Oscar Harkness.

The Meeker Herald — 50 years ago
n Wilber Richardson, who has served as under-sheriff for six years, resigned this week. Richardson was seriously injured last week when Robert Pittman struck him across the face and head with a steel mopstick.
n Four of the Meeker high school faculty were robbed last week while in Denver attending the state basketball tournament when their hotel room was ransacked by thieves.
n Help wanted: Men 17-1/2 to 29 to train for railroad telegraph, teletype, clerk positions. Salary positions to $400 a month plus overtime; paid vacations, hospitalization, medical and retirement benefits. This is a career opportunity with America’s major industry.

n James Anthony Whalin, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Whalin of Meeker, was recently notified that he is a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship program.
n Jeremiah Wilson, son of Gerald and Debbit Wilson of Meeker, will be one-year-old on April 1.
n Douglas and Debra Overton are the parents of a new baby boy, Lee Allen, born on March 22 at 12:04 a.m. at Pioneers Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 20 inches in length.
n Barone Junior High Honor Roll: (Eighth grade) Kelsie Anderson, Sonja Hefton, Hope McGruder, Kelly McKee, Dusty Miller, Brian Nottingham, Ken Senechal, Willy Theos, J.C. Watt, Kyle Whitaker, Carol Lynne Whiteman, Jess Young. Rangely Times — 45 years ago
n Last week the town of Rangely took delivery on a mechanized street sweeper and Vern Harris began operating it on an afternoon schedule this week. The town has been plagued with a dust problem on Main Street since new lines were installed last summer and it is hoped the sweeper will do much to eliminate this.
n The Rangely Jaycees, at their monthly meeting at the Snak Bar, presented the first of two 12-inch portable television sets to the Rangely District Hospital.
n Russ Sullivan, Glen Urquhart and Brent Hardy were named to the 1966 Northwestern AA League All-Star team.
n Richard Luce, senior high faculty member, was elected to head the Rangely Community Education Association for the coming school year.
Rangely Times — 35 years ago
n Voters in the proposed Western Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation and Park District approved formation of the district Tuesday by a 331-57 vote.
n On April 13 the Federal Reserve Bank will release the long-awaited $2 bill.
n RHS girls selected for the all-conference volleyball and basketball teams: Frances Teutsch (volleyball), Cheryl Barnhart and Linda Buckmaster (basketball).

Rangely Times — 25 years ago
n Within the past month, five new businesses have opened or re-opened under new circumstances: Action Feed and Tack, the Rangely Barber Shop, SonLite Glass Co., the Cowboy Corral Restaurant and an auto body repair shop owned and operated by Joe Adair.
n Rangely High School student Heath GeBauer is looking forward to attending a cooking school in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after he graduates.
n Helen Dention, vice president of instruction at CNCC, was the speaker for the monthly meeting of the chamber of commerce. She gave a short history of the college and then went over all the programs and services offered by CNCC.
