~ The round-up is approaching a close. Wednesday they worked Little Beaver, Thursday Coal Creek and Friday Curtis Creek and today they finish on the Rawlins road and Sulphur, tomorrow begin on Strawberry. The calf crop will not be so large as last year, most of the late winter and early spring calves having perished during the severe weather.
~ The attention of our readers is called to the reward notice: selling liquor to the Indians is a devilish crime and we hope the guilty parties will be detected and convicted.
~ One of our prominent cattlemen and a business man of Meeker have in contemplation the erection of a first-class hotel in this town. The proposed hotel will contain 35 rooms and be complete in all respects.
~ Arrangements are being perfected for the proper celebration of the Fourth of July in Meeker, and the indications are that there will be plenty of fun for all.

n Well-known Gentry Motor Lodge owner Hank Komosa, 55, passed away following a heart attack while he was helping with a spawning operation at Trappers Lake.

n City manager Duane Rehborg swears in newly-appointed town council member Libby Raley last week.
n Howard (Buddy) Ridings received Navy Fighter Squadron 114’s Aardvark of the Month award for June 1986, for his dedication, professionalism and expertise.
n Belt buckles, spurs and two handsome saddles are proudly displayed by Kathy Nelson and Melanie Watt, who both qualified for the National High School Rodeo Championsheeps in Rapid City, S.D. Melanie was Colorado’s champion in the barrels and poles while Kathy was third in the sate in cutting.

n E.W. Long announced today that he will be a Democratic candidate for election to the office of sheriff of Rio Blanco County.
n Miss Virginia Lee Turner and Kenneth Marlon Shrum exchanged marriage promises at an 11 a.m. ceremony Saturday at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
n Miss Diana Sizemore, who graduated from Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City on June 3, is not working in the Children’s Primary there.
n Rangely’s municipal swimming pool is a popular place these hot afternoons. Recreation director and Norm Klements and his staff are kept busy selling tickets, keeping watchful eyes on the exuberant youngsters.

n Jerry Waterman of Yampa, Colo., is the first graduate in a new associate degree program offered by CNCC.
n Rangely industries increased their sales during 1975 by over 53 percent, $4,449,000 over the previous year.
n The Miss Rangely Colorado contest deadline is July 3. This contest, sponsored by Rangely Arts and Crafts to celebrate our state’s 100th birthday and town’s 30th birthday, will only occur once in a century.
