Winter Blast is still on

MEEKER I Despite the warm weather and lack of snow, the Meeker Recreation Center is going ahead with plans for their annual Winter Blast this Saturday, Jan 7.
The highlight of the event in past years has been the cardboard sled derby. This year, while there isn’t enough snow for the derby, event coordinators are still encouraging people to build and bring their cardboard sleds for the “most creative sled” competition.
“The dessert cook-off and free lunch are still on, as well as a family-friendly game we’ll have out on the soccer field,” said rec center assistant Trudy Burri.
