n The Gem theatre picture shows are good; Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
n New photograph gallery, Seventh and Water streets, one block south of Dougan’s blacksmith shop — the Big Tent. Photo work done to order.

n Welcome “Podna” to the Stage Coach Inn. Dance to Al Wear’s “4 Wheels.”
n Meeker’s undefeated Ray McKee won the state division II, 180 pound mat title at Englewood Saturday night.
n For those hunters who get too many jackrabbits, you might consider selling them to the Craig Steel and Salvage Company. This company has purchased 33,000 jackrabbits at 50 cents each so far this season. The rabbits are trucked to Laramie, Why., where the pelts are used to make felt for hats and the carcasses become mink food.

The Meeker Herald — 25 years ago
n In what he hopes will be a long and prosperous friendship, automobile importer Malcomb Bricklin and his friends laid out the welcome mat for about 50 community leaders Wednesday afternoon at his recently purchased lodge upriver.
n For the first time in seven years and just the second in the past 20 seasons, the Meeker Cowboys have a chance to play in the state tournament — if they can get by the Olathe Pirates in Friday’s district tournament game.

Rangely Times — 45 years ago
