Parkview Elementary School held its first spelling bee in three years Monday night and will send fourth-grader Raiden Ganser (right) to the Colorado State Spelling Bee in Denver on March 16. Ganser was the top speller of ten fourth- and fifth-grade finalists while second-grader Anthony Dorris (left) won the first through third grade competition. Dorris may travel to Denver to watch Ganser perform at the state bee. Monday night’s pronouncer was Judy Allred, while Dave Smith, Roger Hanna and Todd Cordrey judged the event. Coordinators Lisa Hanna and Beth Scoggins were pleased with how the bee played out. “I think it went really well for the first time having it in several years,” Scoggins said. “The kids did a really good job, and there was a great turnout.”
