2013 Fall Festival

The pins weren’t quite set up symmetrically nor was the lane the smoothest around, but hundreds of children had a great time bowling on the street Saturday during the Fall Festival, which was sponsored by Mountain Valley Bank, White River Electric Association and the ERBM Recreation and Park District.

The challenge of the day went to the obstacle course lined out next to the old elementary school as part of the Fall Festival. Contestants had to jump forward in a personal sack race, get out of the sack and kick a soccer ball, crawl between cones and then do some jumping rope. Most of the contestants made it through the course but it often took a little bit of help from the Meeker Recreation Center staff.

The young males around the Meeker area kept the balloon throw event busy at the Fall Festival on Saturday afternoon. Many a young gent and an occasional girl discovered that a water balloon doesn’t really fly like a baseball or a football – more like a medium-sized pumpkin that is shot-putted toward the boxes to be knocked down.

Everywhere the ERBM Recreation and Park District sets it up, the bumpy blow-up slide is a wild success with the young ones in the group. Fall Festival was no exception as these two young ladies had a great time on the slide amid sunny skies and 60-degree temperatures on Saturday afternoon.
