It’s nearly soup and sweater season. Leaves are beginning to turn just in time for the fall equinox today. Peak colors are expected in the next few weeks. A 30-day forecast of cool nights and sunny days will help the process along–sunshine helps ‘burn off’ chlorophyll in the leaves to reveal other colors, and cooler evening temperatures (although not freezing) can enhance pigmentation, as well. | CAITLIN WALKER PHOTO
