Meekerpalooza…

While the shade was the most popular location to spectate at Meekerpalooza on Saturday, some folks preferred the bright sun and the chance to catch a few rays. There was a smaller group of visitors this year, but the crowd did pick up a bit after the sun started to set, it got cooler and the bands started playing under the lights.

Bands from Rio Blanco County and Northwest Colorado filled the air with music Saturday at Meeker’s Circle Park for the Meekerpalooza and Arts and Crafts Fair. Several crafts booths were featured as well as food from Cuppa Joe’s, Smokin’ 101 and Elk Creek Lodge. There were also some works of art on display and a kids’ play zone.

Donna Noller of Meeker, seated left, had one of the more than a dozen arts and crafts booths set up on the street between Meeker Town Park and Circle Park on Saturday as part of the Second Annual Meekerpalooza and Arts and Crafts Fair. Her visitors, above, were from Arizona. The fair ran from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with food, art and live bands featured.

From left, Bobby Gutierrez of Cuppa Joe, chef and Meeker Town Board of Trustees member Scott Creecy of Elk Creek Ranch, his helpers Colin Loomis and Nicholas ‘Pickles’ Palmer, and Shelby Klinglesmith, Monica Matlock and Austin Brown of Smokin’ 101 BBQ, kept the folks at Meekerpalooza well fed. The food booths were a success with much of the food selling out.
