RBC I Construction on the new Pioneers Medical Center facility continues to be on time and on budget. All steel is set and work has begun to construct the outside walls.
“We are thrilled with the progress of the project,” says Ken Harman, the CEO of Pioneers Medical Center. “Our next goal is to have the building weather proof this October.”
At the current pace the construction will be completed in April 2015.
“We are on track for an opening date of June 2015,” Harman said.
The new medical facility will house all of the existing service including the Walbridge Wing Nursing Home, Meeker Family Health Clinic, the Emergency & Acute Care and all ancillary services. Additionally, the facility is designed to add enhanced care in a variety of areas: chemo therapy and infusion care, flexible private rooms, physical and occupational therapy resoures, industry-specific services, an expanded Meeker family health center and a newly designed Walbridge Memorial Wing.
Pioneers Healthcare Foundation is working with private and corporate foundations to secure grants as well as private donations.
“Our goal is to invest in the necessary and appropriate health care for our Meeker patients, Pioneers Healthcare Foundation Executive Director Margie Joy said. The proposed enhanced care will cost approximately $2 million in start-up equipment and staff training. Once the services are in place, PMC has the talented staff and resources to sustain the new care.
