Greetings, dear readers! This is your reminder that Valentine’s Day is Friday, for everyone who still needs to run out and pick up something sweet for your sweetheart. In keeping with the theme, we’ve got the winners of our Valentine’s Day Couples Competition this week on the front page, along with ads from our contest sponsors so you know where you can get the real goodies, not like these (although a couple dozen eggs might count for a lot this year)…

Besides Valentine’s Day, this is one of the biggest weekends of the year for Meeker sports. Meeker’s wrestlers left yesterday for the state championships. For those who are new around here, that’s what the sirens were about yesterday. We send our high school athletes off to state competitions with fanfare! We’ll have coverage and photos in next week’s paper.
